It means your hard drive is dying. It is having seek and
read errors. Usually as a result of surface defects. When
these start up, they usually compound pretty rapidly.
Quantum has a 3-year warranty. Take advantage of it. When
you get the new drive, try to put a fan on it somehow. A little
fresh air makes all the difference in the life of the drive.
I had some here would last one to three weeks of 24x7 and put
some fresh air on them, and bingo, over a year now.
