It isn't simply busy, is it?

I upgraded pine on 5.1 awhile back. Prior to doing so, eveything was
really fast. But, after the upgrade everything slowed to a total crawl.
It took at least 4 times as long to accomplish anything with folders.
Usually much more.

When it was 'busy' (mostly sitting there doing nothing but, "thinking
about doing something") I'd get symptoms such as you describe. Waiting
long enough, sometimes several long enoughs, and it would respond and
resize stuff.

I distinctly remember forgetting that.
