Welcome Greg,

(Don't worry everybody, I'll do it this time...)

"Running Linux" 2nd edition, Matt Welsh and Lar Kaufman, O'Reilly and
	Associates.

"Linux in a Nutshell: A Quick Desktop Reference", Jessica Perry Hekmann

As well as any basic Unix skills book you see out there, you know
the ones, "Teach Yourself..." and the ubiquitous "For Dummies" series,
not that I'm insinuating anything.

Regards,
