Tim,

I am using a Viper v550. I had to find the XF86_SVGA file at
http://dimension128.smartcom.net/drivers.html#SVGA X-servers. It's in .gz
format, so simply unzip it, then copy it to your /bin/X11R6/bin directory.
Of course, back up the current XF86_SVGA file there just to be safe. <g>

In Xconfigurator, I still choose the Viper 330, but it seems to work
alright. So much for bleeding edge, eh? I bought it, having never had the
money to buy the stuff I've got now (PII 450, Adaptec 2940UW, Viper, DVD,
etc), and didn't think about the fact that while drivers might be found in
the win side of things, that Linux might be a problem.

OTOH, it'll work itself out. As more and more people are using Linux, more
and more developers are finding it hard to ignore the market share that we
represent. We'll be getting drivers from the manufacturers rather quickly,
e're long.
