In Netscape, cut and paste is similar to the W95 method:
cut = Alt-x
copy = Alt-c
paste = Alt-v (or middle-mouse click, or left+right simultaneous)
In other X apps,
copy = wipe to highlight with left mouse
paste = middle mouse click, or left+right simultaneous mouse click
