Try owner-linux-tape@vger.rutgers.edu, the Linux Tape Mailing List: there's
a big thread on ftape-based backup devices such as the Ditto Max. I can't
get mine working either :) but that's because I'm new at this. The list is
really very helpful.

Subject: iomega ditto max internal
Thanks alot guys for all your help. It looks like the resource settings
were right all along and all I needed was the isapnptools 1.16 and
modutils.2.1.85. Isapnptools recognized the tape drive but the
ftape-internal.o still could'nt load. I kept gettin the following error
when loading :
initialization of ftape-internal failed.
Then i got the newest modutils and it loaded without any probs.
Here is my drive and settings.
Drive: Iomega Ditto Max Internal
Controller: Dash controller in ISA slot
Resource: IRQ=6, DMA=3, I/O=0x370H
The pnpdump gave totally different resource settings and I had to change
them manually to the above.
Once again, thanks.

I gather isapnptools doesn't give you the 'right' settings, just all the
possible ones; you then have to figure out which ones apply to you.
Wish I could be more useful...
