Obviously, your vendor doesn't... :-)
scsi0: Configuring BusLogic Model BT-948 PCI Ultra SCSI Host Adapter
...
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 06 Lun: 00
Vendor: iomega Model: jaz 1GB Rev: G.60
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
...
Now, the only difference between a 948 and a 958 is that the 958
has wide support. In all other respects, they are identical.
I've got wide and narrow devices both hung off my 958 at home,
and have had no problems. I can't imagine that the 958 would have
a problem here since the 948 doesn't.
