Hold on a second Brent. You say you are getting include errors? That is very 
different from a link error. Setting your LD_LIBRARY_PATH will help linking 
problems, not problems finding header files.

You'll need to take a look at the makefile you are using. It will probably 
be using -I directives to tell the compiler where to look for header files. 
You will have to add one for the gtk include dir.
