I don't know where people got that warez was slang for -all- software.
Warez is commercial software that is distributed illegally. That's the only
thing it was ever meant to mean. It comes from the days of 3lit3 BBS's run
on Apple II's with HST modems when 56k wasn't even imaginable. The days
were good back then running my Acos then MAcos and then METAL based bbs's.
I miss the old BBS days... applecat modems that could be used for
phreaking... modified radio shack tone dialers that would make quarter
noises... and the old anarchy philes...
