I am burning the midnight oil.... lots of loose ends. Like
I worked on all the Web Pages at www.nook.net, viewed the
log files, then I toyed with DLX.
DLX is a Linux distribution that fits on a floppy. I found
it quite complete, with perhaps a few omissions, but nothing
major. I like it because I could boot RedHat box from the
DLX floppy, and mount the partitions as I saw fit. It would
make a dandy repair/rescue disk.
Anyway, after I toy with it some more, I may post some
questions to the list. For those interested, its here:
http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/pub/opsys/linux/DLX/dlx.html
By the way, I had no luck downloading via http. But I used
ftp on the listed gd.tuwien site and bingo. Got both the
DLX tarball and the DLX demo. So far, just used the demo.
Just make the floppy and pop into the machine and boot it.
Just like that. Of course, it *helps* if the network card
in the box is the one DLX supports (NE2000, WD8003 and 3C509).
