Here is the log of the /var/log/messages after my connection
has been dropped:

Nov 10 21:04:36 localhost pppd[886]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/modem
Nov 10 21:04:43 localhost pppd[886]: Received bad configure-nak/rej: 01 0a 5a 68 11 13 5a 68 11 0a
Nov 10 21:05:10 localhost last message repeated 9 times
Nov 10 21:05:13 localhost pppd[886]: IPCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
Nov 10 21:05:13 localhost pppd[886]: Connection terminated.
Nov 10 21:05:13 localhost pppd[886]: Hangup (SIGHUP)

Can someone give some help? Thanks.
oh, the machine has a newly installed redhat 5.1 with a USR 56k modem.
Also, the ISP sends a line saying "Packet Mode Enabled" after I
sent my password, then followed by regular PPP stuff. Does this
matters? For now, I just send a <CR> to bypass it. The above
log shows what's after I sent the <CR>.
