Absolutely _NOT_ that way!!! Upgrading a running kernel like that
ensures problems!
See the kernel upgrade page at RedHat for a howto on doing it. It
explicitly tells you you should use -ivh instead of -Uvh and has the
other info necessary to getting it to load.
