hylafax problems

Hi,
I have installed the hylafax rpm
hylafax-4.0pl2
for RH-5.1.
I can't get it running properly.
Here is the output of some commands.
Any ideas?

Starting it.
root@pokie sen]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/faxq start
Starting faxq: faxq
[root@pokie sen]#
[root@pokie sen]# ps | grep faxq
[root@pokie sen]#
Doesn't seem to be running.
[root@pokie sen]# faxstat -v
Trying localhost (127.0.0.1) at port 4559...
Connected to localhost.
220 pokie.tcimet.net server (HylaFAX (tm) Version 4.0pl2) ready.
-> USER root
230 User root logged in.
-> PORT 127,0,0,1,50,214
200 PORT command successful.
-> LIST status
150 Opening new data connection for "status".
HylaFAX scheduler on pokie.tcimet.net: Not running
226 Transfer complete.
It is not running, it seems.
Also, I can't start the modem
[root@pokie sen]# faxmodem modem
FIFO: open: No such device or address
[root@pokie sen]#
