OK. Is the CD-ROM on a LUN other than zero?
Here, I also have an AIC7xxx scsi controller, but it's the only one in the
system. The version that I got with Redhat would not probe any LUNs
other than zero, and would continually look for something non-existant
there.
Upgrading to a newer aic7xxx driver helped me, and it might help you.
These should be at redhat, but I found them on ftp.dialnet.net.
