We have a problem that causes a telnet connection to a VMS machine to be
dropped after about 10 minutes if the connection is not being used.

It lasts a bit longer if the session is actually being used (maybe upto
an hour), but still drops out for no apparent reason.

We are using RedHat 5.1 and never had the problem under 4.2.

Also, telnetting from RH to other unix machines (various flavours) is
not a problem, nor from those to the VMS machines.

Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted...
