Troubles installing RH5.2 from FTP download

Hi All,
I downloaded the RedHat distribution from a mirror site and am
now attempting to install it onto a RH5.0 based system via the "Install
from Hard Disk" option. I have boot and supp disks made from the
download. I have a second disk with a 500mb ext2 partion containing
/RedHat
/Redhat/base
/RedHat/RPMS
/RedHat/instimage
/RedHat/instimage/lib
/RedHat/instimage/usr
/RedHat/instimage/usr/bin
/RedHat/instimage/usr/etc
By comparing with an RH5.1 CD, the permissions and directory structure
appear to be OK. However after selecting to install from hard drive, telling
the installer to look in /dev/sdb1 and "/" I get the message "This
doesn't appear to have a RedHat installation tree" (or similar - I'm not
at the machine today)
Does anyone have a URL or an idea about what I'm missing???
