I downloaded and installed QT 1.4. That went fairly smooth. I had to
log out and log back in to get all the env settings correct though.
Once that was setup, I installed all of the kde*src.rpm files. Then
I went to /usr/src/Redhat/SOURCES and started builing KDE. The only
snag was one of them required a flag to force PAM, but the error told
you exactly how to re-run make with that flag.
On my PII-233 laptop with 160mb of ram, it took around an hour to
compile
QT and the KDE source. Everything is working great now.
My only question is cna I start KDM to listen for remote requests, and
not force the console to also start KDM?
