Well, if it does, you would be the answer to my question.

My experience SO FAR, with both BIND 4 and BIND 8 has been
that named (the DNS daemon) will only bind with one ethernet
IP address, and that is never localhost 127.0.0.1.

So, yes, if you are running with Dynamic IP from your ISP,
and want to use DNS inside your machine you would have to
amend resolv.conf to the proper DNS address AFTER the
Network PPP link comes up. It might even take a nameserver
restart.

What I want to see here on the list (I am going to make this
into a separate question for this list shortly) is how to
make BIND 4 or BiND 8 answer queries on more than one IP
address. Here I have a machine with eth0 at 208.161.169.11
and eth0:0 as 216.47.28.5 and for the life of me I can only
get named to answer queries on the eth0 interface. The machine
is pingeable, telnettable, etc. to BOTH address, but named only
works with eth0. Any gurus out there willing to tell me how?
