I've been using 126 kernel, without any patch, on a dual Pentium
production
server for a few weeks now; no problem whatsoever. I installed 126
initially because I have an Adaptec 7890 SCSI card, and that's the only
kernel (that I know of) that doesn't require any patch to recognise the
card.
To make SMP working, you need to make sure that "SMP = 1" is NOT
commented
out in /usr/local/linux/Makefile. 2.1.x series have it, but for 2.0.x
series
you need to uncomment it.
I never knew you could get procesing utils (top, etc.) to show multiple
CPU
status. Can someone point me the the location of the patch?
