I've found Opera to load *much* faster and display faster than both Win95
and Linux versions of Netscape on the same hardware. I also found Opera
more stable than Netscape for Linux. I found the newsreader a little buggy,
but the browser is stable and fast. Opera allows much more end-user
customization than either Netscape or IE. It's powerful and flexible and
has a much smaller memory footprint than the Big Two.

As for cost, sometimes you decide that getting what you want is worth
paying for.
