The pine docs get into this - if you ask me, it makes waaay more sense to
have one filtering tool, independent of the mail user agent you have.
This way, you can play around with all the mail agents you want, and you
don't have to reconfigure your whole filtering setup. I wish that the
developers of various mail programs would take the time they're using to
make their mail program do filtering and spend it on writing a nice GUI
procmail configuration tool. But they don't seem to be, so I'm giving it
a try (anybody who wants to help, let me know).
By the way, a few minutes of digging through the procmail documentation on
the WWW should be enough for you to get started with a working procmail
setup. Ray Curtis (http://www.clark.net/pub/ray) has some good procmail
links I think.
