Any have Successful RH5.2 Installation?

I've been trying for hours to install Red Hat 5.2 from the hard-drive.
I've heard many ppl complain about problems, and I want to know if it is
even possible before I spend any more time messing with it. I get the
error "error opening directory".
So, is it possible? Any advice?
