Hello all.
I just got an used HP ScanJet IIP and try to install.
I have done the following:
1. Install the scsi driver.
2. Insert scsi module.
3. Insert scsi generic module (sg).
4. Get hpscanpbm.
5. Execute "hpscanpbm -dev /dev/sga > sample.pp"
6. The program always return " 'dev/sga' is not an HP Scanjet".
7. I have tried sga to sgh w/o any luck.
8. I have tried 2 scsi card, ncr53c810 and adaptec 2940, and the
result is the same.
9. The scanner is the only device connected during test.
10.Both controller is functional, I verify this by connect CDROM.
I am using RedHat 5.0 and hpscanpbm is 0.3a, is there any easy way
to verify the scanner is working or not ?
Also, my major goal is scanning bw document, please anybody can adivce SANE
or XVScan is more suitable for the task.
Please give me any suggestion. Any comment is welcome.
Thanks in advice.
Best regards,
Almond Wong
