Updated user manual on kernel builds?

With all the errata, I still haven't seen anything about the issue of
module builds. Some have told me to blow away the modules directory before
building/installing modules, a step that's missing from the user manual.
It didn't help, though.

Could we have either some fixes to the makefiles so that modules and
kernels build and work together, or an update to the user manual that
explains how to build these correctly? One of the reasons to spend the
money on the Redhat CDROM and book distribution is to get all the
instructions in one place. But, these instructions seem to be flawed.

[Fortunately monolithic kernels work if you only need a small number of
things in the kernel].
