Gee whiz, you do not have to get so gastronomically intransigent!
Way I see it, the RedHat 5.2 CD bundles a whole plethora of
updates
on one CD. Its worth the $39 to have all the bug fixes, updates,
security holes plugged, all on ONE CD. No need to check out six
places on the Web before you install a package to see if it has
been upgraded or fixed.

This is the way Linux works. The stuff is sold, and is then
subject
to a cycle of criticism, nitpicking, workaround and then final
fixes. Its a dynamite method, and is what is responsible for
Linux's
growth. You can certainly freeze your own system in place, or
go to 18 sites whenever you need to install a package. By not
upgrading you are also cutting yourself out of the loop in the
cycle of "release-fix-upgrade-fix..."

Suit yourself. I have two computers here ready for 5.2, so I
ordered TWO copies of 5.2. Sure, its legal for me to do it
off one....maybe even none at all, or a $2 cheapbyte disk. As
for my money, hell, I vote with my wallet.

Keep up the good work and the bullshit at bay!
