Hi,

I'm running a small LAN with a Linux server. The workstations are all
Windows NT or 98. The email client is MS Outlook 98 The LAN is connected to
the Internet by means of a dialup ISDN connection. I would like to use
fetchmail to retrieve mail from the ISP's POP server.

After reading the docs, etc, what is still not clear to me is how to set up
mail delivery. My workstations are on the LAN and have IP addresses, but
how is mail directed to them? Since they are not part of a domain (am I
wrong?) since the LAN is isolated, how do I address them? I can't send
mail to an IP.

Also how does Outlook/Windows handle email? With a Linux workstation mail
gets delivered with out a mail client being run, what happens in Windows.

With RH 5.1 sendmail comes preconfigured? Also, would qmail or another
sendmail substitute be better?

Thanks. If you can point me to the appropriate docs, that would help.

Stuart
