I believe, but I am not certain, that this is the Microsoft Exchange
attachment. I have noticed attachments on some mail posted to the server,
and yes, it is annoying.
The site http://www.creativelement.com/win95ann/win95ann5.html has a
bunch of fixes and workarounds for Exchange related problems.
