G'day, all.
I need to install a second, low-end, one-time use SCSI adapter in my system
to attach an old tape drive with fixed SCSI address (conflicts with one
currently in use.)
Plus, I'm utilizing both the Wide and Ultra internal connectors on my
Adaptec 2940 UW, which means I can't add an external device, anyway.
I'm considering picking up a 2930W, but it is not specifically listed in the
HCL at RedHat. I figure there's a good chance that the 2930 utilizes one of
the many supported model-independent chipsets, but since Adaptec doesn't
provide that sort of tech info on their web site, I can't find out for
certain if this is the case. (If possible, I need this info before Adaptec
opens their phone lines this morning.)
Does anyone know off the top of their head if the 2930U is supported "out of
the box" by RedHat 5.1, or at least know which chipset it uses?
Thanx much
