That's very common. You might try looking for a few web sites
with related content. Contact the person responsible for the site (the
email can commonly be found somewhere on the site) and ask them if they'd
be willling to link to your site. Make it clear why their readers might
be interested in your site. You might even offer to make a link back to
theirs.
You might even look into the Linux WebRing, a collection of Linux
related sites that agree to put buttons at the bottom of their pages that
link to the other Linux related sites. A URL escapes me at the moment,
sorry.
As for putting something in the RedHat domain, well, you can
always ask. Don't be offended if they say no...
