I haven't tried all this yet but will...

Perhaps...when I first tried booting after just finishing with the
mobo/cpu install, there WAS a problem related to serial port 2 at
2F8/IRQ3(?) - can't really recall the IRQ. It would not bootup
until I either disabled serial port 2 or set it to "Auto".
How could I get a list of IRQs, I/O addresses, etc, in linux? I
know how to get a comprehensive list in OS/2 (but OS/2 isn't running
yet). I could find out what is NOT assigned and give that to
serial port 2 and see if that is related to the problem.
My keyboard is plugged into the PS/2 port...also, should I perhaps
totally disable PnP in bios?
Thanks for the rapid reply.
