Speaking of 'wall'--I've cobbled together an NIS-aware version of
'rwall' (remote 'wall') that understands NIS netgroups and accepts
command-line arg's for things like send timeouts. It also handles
duplicate NIS entries for hosts and, unless overridden, will only
broadcast a message to each duplicated host once.
It's in: linux.nrao.edu:/pub/people/juphoff/nrwall/nrwall-0.3.tar.gz
I should probably do a quickie audit of this for any introduced security
holes (I hacked this together awhile ago, and I know of one potential
hole), fix the two lingering bugs that I know of, clean up the messy
code, and eventually put out a "contrib" RPM of it...it also needs a
man-page. (Type 'nrwall -h' for a usage summary.)
