My modem is on COM3/cua2 though. I think that I might have a DMA =
conflict because my sound card runs on DMA 4 and I believe that modem on =
COM3/cua2 and COM1/cua0 operate on DMA 4 also. Is there some way to =
figure out if this is the problem, and if it is, is there some way to =
correct it. I would prefer not switching jumpers because I also run =
Win98, but if it is the only way I'm willing to give it a try.

While I have no experience with this modem, their web page indicates =
that this is a "standard" modem...

Try setting the modem to COM2 and disabling any on board Com2 ports.

Use the GUI tools to set the modem link to /dev/cua1 and you should =
be all set.

anyone knows whether or not it will work with Linux. I have been trying =
everything to get it to work, but I am only a few weeks old to this =
Linux stuff and could really use some suggestions. I'm running Red Hat =
5.1 on a Pentium machine. Any suggestions?
