yes, in /etc/mtab, these.

/dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom2 iso9660 ro 0 0
/dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom2 iso9660 ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /tmp/mkbootdisk ext2 rw 0 0
/dev/loop0 /tmp/initrd.mnt-20008 ext2 rw 0 0

but, there is no evidence of them in /proc/mounts

[root@pooh /etc]# cat /proc/mounts
/dev/root / ext2 rw 0 0
/proc /proc proc rw 0 0
/dev/hda6 /home ext2 rw 0 0
/dev/hda9 /tmp ext2 rw 0 0
/dev/hda5 /usr ext2 rw 0 0
/dev/hda7 /usr/local ext2 rw 0 0
/dev/hda8 /usr/src ext2 rw 0 0
/dev/hda10 /var ext2 rw 0 0

how can I force these to be "unmounted" - at least in the eyes of df and
mount?
