EXPECTING A REPLY , SO THAT I CAN START INSTALLATION.
DEAR REDHATS
the configuration of my computer is as follows
1) pentium II 300 mhz
2) 4.3 samsung ide hard disk
3) 32 MB sd ram
4) 440 ex mercury motherboard(with 2 ISA and 3 PCI slots)
5) graphics accelerator card , cirus 5446 pci
6) craetive multimedia , 32x IDE/ATAPI cdrom , 16x sound blaster card
i have partioned my hard disk into two equal parts. in first part i had
loaded win 98 and the next part is further divided into two parts.
one for linux native and the other for linux swap.(these two parts have
been made from using linux fdisk)
i had tried to install slackware/redhat 5.1 , and both had the same
problem.
PROBLEM
--------
while installing redhat , i had made the bootdisk from the boot.img and
tried to boot the computer from this floppy. during the booting process
after some time the machine reboots and this is an infinite loop.
the machine gets rebooted after the the pci probing and during the
calibrating delay loops. i am unable to read the display as it moves very
fast.
The same problem i faced when i first tried to install slackware. in
slackware while loading from the boot disk the display looks like
probing pci hardware
unknown pci device
pci vendor id =8 pci device id =7180
mail this configuration.....
(these lines are repeated four times for device id 7181, 7110 and b8.)
calibrating delay loops .....
AT THIS STAGE MACHINE REBOOTS.
please help me out.
