I have just set up ppp on two machines using 5.1 on the laptop
has no problems. the desktop will dial and logon to my server
but when i test the link by pinging I get no reply. I thought
that i did the set up identicly but that doesn't appear to be
the case the only major difference between the two machines
is that the desktop has a SMC Ultra network card installed but that is
as of yet not plugged into the hub although it is set up to
run on a private network ie; i have assigned ip addresses etc
in the appropriate config files. i plan to set up ip masq once i have
the dialup link sorted out would i have set it up b4 setting up dialup
