Just as a side note, I have installed dozens, nay hundreds, of Linux
installations. I have found that the most trouble-free (with regards to
disks filling up) are the "one big-ass partition" machines. I see the
reasons for splitting partitions up, and do so if needed, but for personal
machines or for multi-purpose servers where I don't know where all the disk
usage is going to be, I found one partition to be easiest.
Our latest from VAResearch has a 2 Gig / and a 45 gig /home. I see no need
to break up the 45 gig. (ok 36 gig in raid5).
just a note for people who feel the MUST break up into 2, 5, 12 whatever
partitions. I have usually found it more of a PITA than a help.
