Hi everyone ..
I've inherited this network here at school and rebuilt some of the
machines. Having not played with _much_ security stuff I'm looking for
some answers to a couple of questions.
After installing tcp wrappers I've looked at some unauthorized connections
already after only a couple of days. So I want to give a warning to some
ports that I've left open, ie: when someone telnets to a machine I
display a message .. then the login prompt is given. Could someone
enlighten me :)?
One more question.. what would be the best (most secure) for an ftp daemon
and sendmail. I know I've seen mentions of replacements countless times,
but can't remember what they are.
TIA !
peace
Joel
