xosview problems on RHL 4.2 kernel 2.0.35

xosview used to work fine for me, but I haven't run it in a long
time. When I tried it today, I got the following:
> xosview
Can not open file : /proc/net/ip_acct
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
The above file does not exist on my system.
I have RHL 4.2 with all the updates and a 2.0.35 kernel that I
compiled myself from the .tar.gz file
> rpm -qf `which xosview`
xosview-1.4.1-3
Have I broken something on my system or do others running 4.2 have
this problem?
