after a very succsessfull install of red hat 5.1 i find that my
xconsole "never"
displays any information in it.

here is what i have....

redhat linux 5.1
kernel 2.0.34 "stock" right out of the "box"
an "x" environment  (runlevel 5)

and only 2 users, both myself, including "root".
{it doesn't work,  with either user}
from what i've read, some system information is supposed to be displayed
in the box,
but nothing happens for me.

any one got some things i could look at?

thanks in advance...
harold
