Re: cannot open modem device - Help!

No. I killed pppd with "kill -9 pid"

I looked there. But I find only these files news, samba, subsys and not modem

It doesn't show any pid. I tried rebooting the machine and also switching off
the modem and switching on back.
Modem works fine on windows.

Any other thoughts?
