I have installed the following rpms in an attempt to be able to
run a program on an SGI and display it on my linux box.

XFree RPMS:

XFree86-100dpi-fonts-3.3.2-8
XFree86-S3V-3.3.2-8
XFree86-75dpi-fonts-3.3.2-8
XFree86-SVGA-3.3.2-8
XFree86-cyrillic-fonts-3.3.2-3
XFree86-libs-3.3.2.3-18
XFree86-devel-3.3.2-8
XFree86-3.3.2.3-18

Mesa RPMS:

Mesa-glut-2.6-2
Mesa-glut-devel-2.6-2
Mesa-devel-2.6-2
Mesa-2.6-2
Mesa-demos-2.6-2

xlock RPM:

xlockmore-GL-4.03-2

When I try to run xlock -mode pipes [or any other GL-related screensaver,
I get the following error:

xlock: can't load library 'libglide2x.so'

I am running on a Pentium II 233 with a Diamond 3D 3000 card [S3V server],
so I can't understand why it's looking for the glide lib which I understand
to be for the Voodoo cards. Is this a configuration thing in Mesa? I had
xlockmore-GL working once before, but I believe I was using a tarball instead
of the rpm. I will try that again if no one has an idea what might be
confusing my system into looking for the glide lib. Also, I am interested in
any input [please email me directly] on the use of XFree86 and Mesa as opposed
to Metro-X and Metro-GL. Thanks.
