Hello, I'm working on a small project, I require the ability to send out
e-mail from the Per; script.
This in and of itself is quite easy, the following task is not (from what I
can see). I need to track the message ID's on the outgoing mail so I can
properly handle incoming mail.
Is there any way to get sendmail to kick back the message ID of the message it
just sent?
The only other solutions I could think of are:
1) If sendmail supports writing the fully composed message out to a file, such
that it could be read in and searched for by the same instance of the program.
2) One method I know will work. BCC the message to another e-mail address and
have that piped to the script/ a script. This however would require there
being some internal variables from the first script being passed on in the
message which might not be wanted.
Both of these solutions are quite messy and not very good implementations,
anyone else have any suggestions?
