Hello,
I'm trying to run xdm via the "init 5" command. The system tries to switch
to run level 5 and start xdm but spits out the following:
INIT: cannot execute "/usr/bin/X11/xdm"
INIT: cannot execute "/usr/bin/X11/xdm"
INIT: cannot execute "/usr/bin/X11/xdm"
INIT: cannot execute "/usr/bin/X11/xdm"
INIT: cannot execute "/usr/bin/X11/xdm"
INIT: cannot execute "/usr/bin/X11/xdm"
INIT: cannot execute "/usr/bin/X11/xdm"
INIT: cannot execute "/usr/bin/X11/xdm"
INIT: cannot execute "/usr/bin/X11/xdm"
INIT: cannot execute "/usr/bin/X11/xdm"
INIT: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes.
after about 5 minutes the above is repeated.
I've also tried to edit /etc/inittab to change the run level to
5 and after rebooting I still get the above message. Any ideas
as to how to solve this problem?
