i've attempted to build modular sound into the 2.0.35 kernel.
unfortunately, the make modules routine ends with this sequence of
output:
sound_calls.h warning 'structure file info' declared inside parameter
list
.
.
.
make[2] *** [sound_syms.o] error 1
.
.
.
make[1] *** [modules] error 2
i retrieved the kernel sound patch and tried to use it but to no avail.
the output and prompts that appear when i try to apply this patch
seems as if it is unnecessay. is it?
the sound is on board(intel), it's based on the cs4232 codec and
yamaha opl3 synth. the interface is pnp-isa and i've attempted the
pnpdump > isapnp.conf but when i boot up after making the necessary
changes the parameters do not match up: the board serial id, and
checksum
differ. for example in the isapnp.conf file, i'll find the appropriate
label cs4232 however, on bootup it is read as cs0b32? i don't understand
this.
any advice?
