confusion with mgetty configurations's files

Hi Linux friends,
Due to your great help, mgetty seems to be up and ready on my system .
A listing of the processes (ps -x ) confirms me that sbin/mgetty -D -x2
/dev/ttyS3 has it's own process and is fine. I had to add the following
line to /etc/inittab:
m1:3:respawn:/sbin/mgetty -D -x2 /dev/ttyS3 (which is the modem attached
to my home phone line and that users
from outside can use to dial in) and installed the mgetty-1.1.9-4.i386.rpm.
Just need some help to clarify some things:
I ve created an account, call it "jimmy" for my friend Jimmy so that he can
call into my linux box with his modem.
# First thing I went to do is checking /etc/mgetty+sendfax/login.config:
It tells me to enter an entry for my friend Jimmy..which format should be
like
username userid umtp_entry login_program [arguments]
As exples, I have:
U* uucp @ /usr/lib/uucp/uucico -l -u @
or../AutoPPP/ - a_ppp /usr/sbin/pppd auth -chap +pap login kdebug 7 debug
So, in my case , which of the following entries is right for Jimmy .If
they 're all wrong, pls tell me what it should be:
U* jimmy root /usr/bin/login @
or..
U* jimmy @ /usr/sbin/pppd -l -u @
(cause for PPP server set up,
someone told be that to avoid login prompts and usage of pap-secrets,
I could delete /bin/bash at the end of the user's passwd file entry and
replace it by /usr/sbin/pppd instead . Of course /usr/sbin/pppd had been
added in /etc/shells).
II. There's also /etc/mgetty+sendfax/dialin.config (where I just added the
phone line of jimmy)
and the /etc/mgetty+sendfax/mgetty.config to configure.
The mgetty.config is not a piece of cake, sinceI really do not know what to
comment or not there.
For ie, my modem i son ttyS3 and following entries capt my attention:
#direct connection on a VT terminal which doesnt like DTR drops
#
#port ttyS3
#directly
#speed 19200
#toggle-dtr n
Is this here that I should check for port specific entries???
But what to uncomment here is not easy. say, I uncomment port ttyS3..I
guess it s out of purpose and has nothing to do with my modem ..right??
If someone has got mgetty setted up for receiving outside calls to its
machine, I d appreciate if he can send me the steps of how to do it...
