This is done to death but...
There is no need to use HTML in the list. Plain ascii works wonders.
Many do not use an html-compatible mailreader (pine and others).
Plain text DOES work on browsers/mailreaders, however, so one can use
pine OR communicator and still read the list with no problems at all.
The converse is NOT true...vis a vis, html crap.
HTML takes up more bandwidth unnecessarily.
Many (myself included) totally ignore a message as soon as we see
it is html. We wont even TRY to decifer the actual message hidden
away in all the html tag crap.
It is painless to use plain ascii. Just click the switch in netscape,
if that is what you use, to eliminate the use of html...easy.
Using ascii will MARKEDLY increase your readership. If you have a
problem/
question to post, then this is a benefit to YOU. You lose if you use
html since we are tossing the tagged message immediately into the
trash.
