5.0 -> 5.1 upgrade - whats involved?

Hi,
This is somewhat of a conceptual question. I have a box that is running
Redhat Linux 5.0. I have another box that is running 5.1. I have been
using a perl script called rhlupdate to keep the errata up to date on the
5.1 box. I'd also like to update the 5.0 box to 5.1. I know that I can
just use the upgrade option off the CD but what I'm wondering,
conceptually, is there anything different in the layout of 5.0 vs. 5.1?
By this I mean is a Redhat update simply an upgrade of all the rpms that
are installed? If that is the case, all I need do is run the rhlupdate
script and all the rpms on my 5.0 box will be upgraded to their 5.1
versions. To my mind, that should work, since all the installer does is
install rpms. However, is anyone aware of anything else it does behind
the scenes (like redo directory structure or stuff like that).
