OK, I have officially given up on getting my linux box to get a
PPP connection through my ISP. I'm thinking of a different approach.
My win98 box works just fine connecting to my ISP, so I thought perhaps
if I ran a socks server and dns on that box I could get my linux box to
connect to the internet that way, since pppd and chat are failing
miserably.
1) Has anyone used a win98 box with linux in this configuration?
2) What configuration changes would I need on the linux box or what
would be a good HOW-TO to read?
