When searching the man pages, did you find the crypt program or a
crypt library? Red Hat's linux distribution (at least 4.2 which is
what I'm still using) appears to include the crypt library, but not
the crypt program that is on other Unices (at least Solaris). I
suspect you can probably find the source code for it on the web, but I
haven't tried.
If you can't find anything, and the information isn't that
"sensitive", we have Sun Solaris machines at work so I could decrypt
it for you if you gave me the file and password.
