[Question]Problem that happens to install two NICs

Hi!
I would like to use my linux box as a router
so, I installed two NIC(Ethernet, one 3c509B-TPO, the other
3c509B-combo)
But, In booting time, linux system is downed
The system uses LILO.
Before not appear "LILO:" message, The system is downed
But each NIC well operates in the system(installed one by one)
what is it that I need to change?
